   Pemi Pale Ale
   Red Rack Red Ale
    Loon Golden Ale
  Old Man Oatmeal Stout
  Weasel Wheat Ale
    Wassail Winter Ale
Notes: I feel so bad for this place, because I don't think I've ever come here smelling particularly good.  They're perfectly situated at the south-western end of one of my boyfriend and my favorite playgrounds, so we always end up stopping by on our way home after three days in the mountains.  We couldn't ask for a better spot to recover in.  Cozy, with cute historic decor.  I love the wallpaper!  Great beer, and excellent food.
The stout is incredibly smooth and creamy, and oh so light.  The red and brown are also very good, but all the brews are quality.  My only complaint on the beer end is that the seasonal was only available in bottles.  We've had samplers on previous occasions and everything was good quality.  Pick your favorite style and you won't go wrong.
We're here so rarely, and remember fondly our favorites, so we don't tend to branch out a lot on the food options.  The pumpkin-walnut ravioli appetizer is to die for.  It can't be too healthy with the creamy-cheesy-spicy sauce, but after climbing two mountains in the snow, I wasn't counting calories.  I had a salad to go with the appetizer this time.  The greek salad with the homemade stout balsamic vinaigrette.  Very excellent.  I usually get the portabella sandwich, which is also a winner, but I felt I needed some greens this time.  My boyfriend almost always gets this insane looking concoction called the train wreck.  It's listed as a sandwich but it takes a knife and fork to attack.  Good recovery food.

Beers:        Hoffman Weiss
   Moat Czech Pilsner
   Moat Pale Ale
   Moat Brown
  Moat Stout
  Smokehouse Porter
Notes: One of my favorite brewpubs anywhere.  I hate being cold, and I abhor the snow, but when my boyfriend suggested we head north over the holiday weekend for a winter ascent of Mt. Washington, my thoughts were with Moat Mountain.  I agreed if we could recover here.  Of course those were terms he'd happily agree too!
Now I can't be sure if my opinions of this spot are colored by the fact that I've never been here and not been tired and sore and in need of a nice beer to recover, or if they're just simply great.  Food always tastes better after a long day of hiking.
Reasonably priced at $4 for a pint $4.75 for an imperial pint, and the quality is top notch.  The place was packed when we arrived at 5pm (I guess winters busier than summer), we were told it'd be half an hour (so glad we got there early, by the time we were seated people were being told an hour!!) and we went to the bar to wait.  Despite the bar being absolutely packed, we were served within a minute or two.  By the time we finished our imperial pints (czech pils and brown) it was only a few minutes until our table was ready.
We ordered some more beers (stout and porter) and appetizers.  All the beers were very good, we've gotten the sampler on previous visits and enjoyed every one.  The veggie thai peanut chili is the stuff dreams are made of.  It comes with a little wedge of soft corn bread, and is beyond good.  I get it every time.  My boyfriend said his wings were excellent.  I tried the chipotle sauce the came in and it was fantastic.  The only complaint here was that he asked if they could be very wet, and the waitress didn't ask if he wanted an additional side cup or warn that it would cost extra.  He was pleased when he saw how much extra sauce he got, but pissed when he saw the dollar charge on the bill.  I don't mind paying for it, but a warning would be nice.
I got the bean and pineapple wrap with cajun fries.  There could've been more cajun on the fries but it was tasty.  I'd have been disappointed had they called it a burrito, because a burrito it was not. It was a wrap with a mexicanish twist and a unique taste that I enjoyed throughly. My boyfriend got the peanut chicken pizza.  The pizzas here are huge, he had to bring half back to the hotel for the next days lunch.  The pizza looked great.  I didn't try it because I'm a vegetarian but on a previous trip we shared a different one (tried to check their website to figure out which one it is, but you need flash to see the menu :( ~it came with kalamata olives, artichokes  and I think goat cheese among other things, maybe it was called california?) and it was fantastic.
My second complaint was when we were ready to leave it took all of 45 minutes to get out.  Pretty much after our meals were put on the table (by somebody else) is when the ignoring started.  She walked past us several times.  I called out to her wanting to ask for more water, and she kept walking.   Eventually, still thirsty we finished eating and continued to wait and try to get her attention; and she continued to pretend there was nobody at our table, I don't know why she all of a sudden decided to ignore us, she kept coming to the other tables in the area and then turning her back to us to walk away and not notice us gesturing and calling; she didn't appear all that busy either.  I mean it was warm, and we had a nice spot by the window, so it wasn't *that* urgent that we needed to leave (though, if we had to wait 45 minutes another beer would be nice!) but I don't wonder why the wait to get tables is so long; we got our table at 5:30 and left at 7:30.  Eventually she noticed us and brought us the check and a box.
Still, the restaurant is great.  Awesome food and beer, and decent prices.

                Auburn Lager
                Raspberry Wheat
                Summer Daze Wheat

Notes:  I was in Fort Wayne on Business and to be honest wasn't expecting much.  I left my conference and tried to get sushi for dinner first.  I was disappointed to find that there wasn't a single vegetarian option on the menu of the sushi place, so I wasn't so hopeful on my dinner options.  I yelped for brewpubs and was surprised to find one not far away.  I had my dinner plan!I sat at the bar and chatted with a local while I ate my pizza and drank some very good beers.  I was pleasantly surpised by the numerous veggie options and there wasn't a beer on the sampler tray that I did not enjoy.  Usually, I'm not impressed with beers that have fruit added, but even the Raspberry Wheat was very good.  I was torn between the Auburn Lager and the Stout for a pint, ultimately choosing the lager.  If you're in the Fort Wayne area, I'd definitely suggest checking this place out.

Notes:  In a word: phenomenal.
I don't need to say more, but I will.  This place is truely a gem.  We spent our new years here while on vacation and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.  A unique and authentic glass for each (incredible) brew, and really good food. Even for a vegetarian!...my boyfriend loved his schnitzel dish and my kase spaetzle was great, better than Spaetzle I had in Munich during Octoberfest this fall.  At midnight the enthusiastic owner decapitated champagne bottles!  Great fun!  I was surprised at how empty the party was however, and disappointed to learn that it was discontinued last year, since we'll be in Florida for New Years again this year, and I'd hoped to bring my parents

Kelly's Caribbean Bar Grill and Brewery

Phone: (305) 293-8484
Cost: More expensive than we're used to but not outrageous
Visit Date: 11/1/2007
Beers: Southern Clipper Wheat Ale
           Key West Golden Ale
           Havana Red Ale
Nearby: Dry Tortugas National Park http://www.nps.gov/drto/index.htm
Notes: I was very pleased with their ability to adapt.  They didn't have anything vegetarian on the menu, but the friendly waiter, assured me they serve vegetarians all the time and the chef could come up with something tasty.  I wasn't disappointed.
It was a nice looking establishment, we sat outside, it's Key West!  and enjoyed our meal next to a friendly drunk family.  The service was a bit slow, but it was pretty packed.  Most importantly the beers were good!  Too light, but they always are.  The Golden ale was much hoppier than a Golden, but made for a nice quality Pale Ale.  The red was pretty flavorful.

Hops Grill and Brewery

Website: http://www.hopsrestaurants.com
Cost: Very cheap menu
Visit Date: 11/3/2007
Beers:    Clearwater Light
              Lightning Bold Gold
              Hammerhead Red
              Alligator Ale
              Octoberfest (seasonal)
              Pale Ale (seasonal)
Notes: Average Chain Brewery with a warm and cozy feel due to the dark wood and brick decor.  They had and incredibly inexpensive sampler tray at $3.79.  The food looked decent but we didn't eat anything.
The lighter ales tasted pretty corn-y.  Standard American Cheap Style, and the Alligator Ale Porter was watery, no head, no smell, couldn't taste the chocolate that was supposedly used.
My favorites were either the Octoberfest or the Red.

Gordon Biersch

Beers: Golden Export
            Hefeweizen
            Czech Lager
            Marzen
            Schwarzbier
            Octoberfest
Notes:  They're a chain, but they seem to vary a lot by location.  Which is probably a good sign, of local fresh cooking.  The Miami location seemed a little more upscale with very nice looking food, my favorite location of the few I've visited.  We'd been brewpubbing our way down the coast of Florida so we weren't hungry, but looking around at other tables, I really wished I was, it looked great.  A lot of the beers had a smoky finish, which is a tad unusual, in say a Golden but it was nice.  I should note that we've bought their beer in bottles before (as far away as Fresno, CA) and the consistency was not there, definitely better fresh.  This location is downtown, and we found parking pretty quickly, but I can see it being tough on a busier night.
